QiSS ME (2011)
As an aftermarket firmware (ROM) provider for a number of Android-based smart phones, QiSS ME features a heavily-modified user interface for Taiwanese and provides a fresh user experience with cloud services and apps.
SMARTWHEEL LAUNCHER
Offers superior sense of control for tech-savvy. Since they care for efficiency, the design objective is to help users get things done as quickly as possible (one step less) by gestures. The SmartWheel works in both launcher and lockscreen. It allows user to set up to 6 fast links of frequently used functions and to turn on/off the screen without using the power key.
TOGETHER WE MAKE IT BETTER
QiSS ME encourages user feedbacks and communication between users, designers, and developers. Hence, we introduce several mechanisms to stimulate user interactions and enhance adhesions. Such as: web forum, a easy bug report system, and weekly OTA service. Furthermore, a mascot widget delivers messages and even surprises.
OPTIMISATIONS
The UI optimisations range from system to apps. For example, SNS integrations in the lock screen, smart settings for power saving, new-comer folder for recently installed apps, powerful batch apps management, time-saving gestures…etc.
CUSTOMISATIONS
Customisation(make it your own) is important for personal devices, especially for the tech-savvies who love to have full control over their phones. Beyond offer options for system settings, we introduce the online theme creator to help user add variety and style of their own.
QiSS APPS
Expect for the systematic-level planning, QiSS re-designed some primary apps for a better mpbile user experience as well, such as QiSS Music (with DLNA), PiQture (with GPS recorder), DocQman (with cloud storage), Qmemo (with hand-writing), Dialler (with speed dial), Contacts (with group view), RadiQ… etc.
QiSS TEAM
The QiSS ME launched officially on Feb. 2nd, 2012. Without marketing activities, our forum hit 22,000+ page view with 4,500+ visitors in just one week, and 1353 android phone flashed with QiSS ME in one month. The SmartWheel launcher got 10,000-50,000+ installs on Google Play. These number may look nothing comparing to other well-known ROM providers, but did cheer up the team who were new to the market!
