GEMINI (2009)
Gemini is an Android-Based smartphone with foldable dual touch screens, accompanied by an innovative user interface called “SmartDuet”, which opens up a whole new user experience. The UI design is awarded iF Gold in 2009 (Germany).
INFO-QUICK CENTER
It keeps user updated with what’s going on. It is composed of eight card-like widgets which allows user to get a quick preview of the content. Flip the card to see more detailed information; drag and drop to easily personalise its layout.
OPEN TO EXPLORE
Just unfold the Gemini, user can instantly open a preset application without searching and tapping icons. For example, internet heavy users can instantly start to surf online by unfolding the displays, book lovers can quickly start to read the page right where they left off last time, or, travellers can open the Gemini to read the map.
OPEN TO EXPAND
The Gemini is also optimized for providing powerful media experience. It is not only to enlarge the content to full screen, but to give user more control over the content. For example, when listening to the music, user can browse the album covers on one screen and read the lyrics on the other.
OPEN TO MULTITASK
The dual screens can be used for multitasking. Moreover, it is context-awared. For instance, when user is on the phone and trying to arrange a meeting. Just unfold the Gemini, then a smart menu with related shortcuts(i.e., calendar) will pop up on the other screen and the speaker will be turned on for user to continue the conversation.
A NEW WAY OF EXISTENCE
The clamshell design offers more possible usage. User can fold the device to a 30-degree angle and put it on a desk, the Gemini will turn into a digital fame and start to display photos, calendar, widgets , weather, or you can play bingo with your friend.
POCKETABLE VIEWING PLEASURE
The foldable screen design offers the viewing comfort of a big screen without compromising the mobility. User can choose freely to use a 4.3” screen or unfold it into a 5.8” screen according to his/her needs.
