MEMORY BOX (2013)
A hardware (Box + Easy Remote) and software integrated solution to help users keep their life stories on the home cloud. User can easily use their smart devices as second screens to view, stream, sync, control, and share their photos and videos from the box. We can not store time, but we can archive your memories.
PHOTO HOME CLOUD
Memory Box serves as a reliable mass storage and helps people keep their life stories secure in one place. Multimedia content can be uploaded wirelessly, by SD/USB/smart devices, or by placing the camera on top of Memory Box. Indeed we were designing the interaction between gadgets – to exchange content, to share control, to be contextually aware.
YOUR MEMORY FLOWS
The home screen, Memory Stream, displays the photos/videos in sequence and creates living memory collages for user to recall and enjoy their memories in a beautiful way. For a big screen viewing pleasure, the design emphasis on the photos, everything else is secondary.
STAY ORGANISED
As the home cloud possesses massive media files, Memory Box needs to find a way to help user keep their files organised. Since sorting is the best way to reduce users’ cognitive loads. All of the pictures/videos are automatically classified into categories according to time, place and people.
EASY REMOTE, SMART MENU
The software UI is elaborately tied in with the hardware UI for better efficiency. Press the menu key on the remote at any screen for the contextual menu which provides the exact functions according to the context. No wondering around the buttons on the screen anymore, all the primary functions you need are just one click away.
TIMELINE
Since the memory box, a photo home cloud, contains great amount of photos, it provides the Timeline helps user jump through the Memory Stream efficiently. By moving the clock nob, user can jump by date.
HISTORY IN TODAY
The research of positive psychology has shown that people can relive the happy moments by watching the photos again. When the memory box detacts there is a photo took last year today, a smart reminder will pop-up on the corner of the screen to help user to recall the good old moments.
SECOND-SCREEN EXPERIENCE
User can access the photos anytime, anywhere on their smart devices, or use smartphone as a remote control by the MemoryBox app. Moreover, this app will provide the second-screen experience in the future.
DIGITAL TO PHYSICAL
Memory Box not only generates beautiful digital albums automatically but integrates the printing services for user to get a real copy, or, send out a real postcard to friends from the app.
