BIO

Cynthia Lin is a senior UX consultant/design lead from Taipei, Taiwan. She has 13+ years of experience in design and solid knowledge of HCI, visual communication, and information architecture. She also has one year teaching experience at university (Taiwan Tech.) Cynthia has a Master degree in HCI and a BFA degree in visual arts with a minor in information design (Academic ranking 1st.) 

 

Previously working as the Sr. UX consultant & team leader with IBM. She used user-centered design to renovate the customer experience for the banking industry and produce real business outcomes. Meanwhile, she led her team members and supervises the design process from end to end. During her 3+ years of services, she has been awarded the IBM’s Manager’s Choice Award four times.

 

Prior to joining IBM, Cynthia worked as the UX lead/manager of Lifestyle Design Center at BenQ Corp. for 7 years. She was in charge of the product UX planning/strategies, setting design guidelines, leading in-house UI+GUI designers, and project management for various product lines including smart devices, consumer electronics, and medical system. Her works at BenQ were awarded internationally many times, including iF Gold, IDEA Bronze and Reddot.

 

Later, Cynthia and two friends started the Digital Medicine Lab in 2014. It is a design studio which they created as a platform to deliver the values they believe in. Their objective is to provoke thoughts through art and design since they are all interested in the psychological or sociological changes caused by current or future technologies. They founded the lab because they want to do something interesting and good to the society, which is neither profit-driven nor money-oriented. Sometimes they did design consulting services for other startups in Taipei, Shanghai, and Beijing. Meanwhile, Cynthia also freelanced for IDEO Shanghai. 

 

Currently Cynthia is in search of new challenges in Taipei or Shanghai, she is especially interested in technologies and products that truly transform people's lives on a global scale. Please email directly. cynthia2891@gmail.com
